A fable lets animals or objects make the mistake, so a person can hear the lesson without feeling accused. The story stays small. The moral has to come from the action, not from a slogan glued on at the end.

One fable

A hare treats a big lead as a settled fact and lies down. A tortoise keeps walking and finishes. The lesson is not “slow is better.” It is that a head start is not a character.
